Julian Mann – ‘I Felt’ Music Video

A particularly outdoor-themed video for my brother Julian’s song. The video was shot just north of London in rural Hertfordshire, and if you look closely you will see a train.
Special thanks to Simon Douglas for some great camera jiggling.

Magnox

Animated using After Effects, I produced this spot with Wave Communications for the UK nuclear energy provider Magnox.

Canon Cinema Camera C100

Late last spring I made the switch to the Canon C100 and I have never looked back. Up until that point I had been mostly shooting with Sony XDCAM cameras like the EX1 and EX3. I used the 5Dmkii for all those bespoke jobs and image pieces that required something a little more interesting (with shallow depth of field being the main hook).

Albert Lee at the Canyon Club

A 70th Birthday Celebration Concert for guitar legend Albert Lee took place on January 9th at the Canyon Club in LA, CA.

Albert was joined on stage with a number of special guests including Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Chris Hillman & the Desert Rose Band, Rosie Flores, Laurence Juber, Scarlet Rivera, Peter Asher.

The night was musical history and I’m looking forward to the London Concerts on 1st and 2nd of March in London.

More information about the upcoming performances and Albert Lee available on the official site

John Gurche for National Geographic

I was co-shooter for this short film for NatGeo online. A real pleasure meeting John and seeing him work at his studio in upstate New York.

Pro Bono Week DC

I was very excited to participate as a volunteer with Pro Bono Week DC through Stone Soup Films. It was great developing a film for a wonderful organisation that helps match creative leaders with the nonprofit community.

I enjoy these projects because I’m able to sharpen my own video skills while meeting people in the DC community. Also, the organisations walk away with a product they wouldn’t be able to get otherwise.

Keen Greater DC

During May and June this year I was fortunate enough to volunteer for the Stone Soup Films charity in Washington DC.
Stone Soup Films is a registered charity that “creates and donates quality promotional films for worthy non-profits in Washington, D.C. in order to enhance their visibility among donors, constituents, and the general public.”

Crainer’s Hill

Worked with musical duo Crainer’s Hill on their cover of Come Together in rural Buckinghamshire, north of London.

Working on music videos is particularly fun because of the motion, emotion, and vision it takes. Not to mention a fair share of ridiculousness. Helps when its a great song too.

Chess Center US

I volunteered as camera operator with Stone Soup Films covering a US Chess Center event back in April.

Rochelle Ballantyne played 20 simultaneous games at the Town Hall Education Arts and Recreation Center (THEARC).

New School of Music

Created the promo for the New School of Music for the very talented Kersten, guitar player and musical director.
